Waxing FAQ
What kind of wax do you use?
I use a pink film hard wax from Miss Cire. It is formulated for sensitive skin and works well with all hair types. It is made from synthetic rosins allowing an effective and clean removal for short, thin and coarse hair with little to no pain or irritation.
How long does the hair need to be to wax?
The hair needs to be at least 1/4 inch long (length of grain of rice). That way the wax can pull the hair directly from the root, fully removing it. Anything shorter the hair will break and cause ingrowns.
How can I prep my skin for waxing?
Exfoliation! Exfoliation loosens up the hair follicle, making it easier to remove. Exfoliate 48 hours before your appointment. Same day exfoliation will make your skin more sensitive.
I've never had a brazilian before, what can I expect?
The service is very fast, about 15-20 minutes. Yes, you will have to fully undress from the waist down. No, it's not weird. Estheticians do this all day. It's our job to make you feel comfortable and confident.
Can I wax while I'm pregnant?
Yes, however, you will be more sensitive.
Can I wax on my cycle?
Yes, just have a tampon in please. You will be more sensitive during your cycle.
Is trimming included in bikini services?
Yes
Does waxing help prevent razor bumps and ingrown hairs?
Yes, 100%. Waxing removes the hair directly from the root versus shaving. With waxing, your skin will be smooth a lot longer.
If waxing hurts, why do so many people do it?
Consistency is key! The more you wax (no shaving in between) your hair will thin out each time. Thinner hair means less pain each time and a faster service.

Is it normal to break out after a wax?
No, the wax I use is very gentle and shouldn't cause irritation. Aloe vera is applied after each service to soothe the skin also.
Do you sell aftercare?
Yes, I sell The Ingrown Potion No. 2 Intensive Tamanu Oil Blend from Waxing Lovely. This product is an after wax oil that prevents ingrown hairs & bumps. It aslo helps treat scars.
Do you only wax women?
No, men can book for any waxing services expect bikini/brazilian.
Contraindications for Waxing:
Visible skin trama, lesions, sores, open wounds, keloid or hypertrophic scarring, sunburn, very dry skin, use of retinol in the last 48 hours.
